1 Overview & Data Controller

This Privacy Policy describes how JozaForge ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Retakr – Digital Life Control mobile application (the "App"), available on the Google Play Store. The App is designed to help users manage their digital habits by blocking apps, websites, and harmful online content on Android devices.

Because Retakr does not collect, transmit, or process any personal data through our systems, JozaForge does not act as a data controller in the traditional legal sense. All data generated by your use of the App remains exclusively on your device and is never accessible to us. The formal data controller obligations under GDPR and similar laws are not triggered by our processing because we perform no such processing.

By installing and using Retakr, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2 Data We Do Not Collect

Retakr is built with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. We explicitly do not collect any of the following:

No server connection required: Retakr functions entirely offline after installation. It does not connect to our servers during normal use. There is no user account, no login, and no cloud synchronization.

3 Information Stored on Your Device

Retakr stores configuration data locally on your device using a local SQLite database (via the Drift library) and Android's SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device through our systems.

How to delete your data

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

4 Android Permissions Explained

Retakr requests specific Android permissions to deliver its core functionality. Each permission is used only for its stated purpose and no data gathered through these permissions is transmitted outside your device.

Accessibility Service Required for URL Blocking

Retakr's Accessibility Service runs continuously in the background in order to enforce your blocking rules in real time. This is required for the app to intercept and block prohibited content as soon as it appears, regardless of which app is in the foreground. While active, the service reads the URL currently displayed in the address bar of permitted browser apps solely to check whether it matches a blocked keyword or URL. The service does not record, log, store, or transmit any browsing activity — URL text is evaluated in-memory and immediately discarded. No data leaves your device. You can revoke this permission at any time in Android's Accessibility settings, which will disable all web URL blocking and real-time app enforcement.

Usage Access (App Usage Statistics) Required for App Limits

The Usage Access permission allows Retakr to query how many minutes you have used each app today. This data is used solely to enforce the daily time limits you configure (e.g., "block YouTube after 30 minutes"). Usage data is read from the Android system, processed in-memory to calculate remaining time, and is never stored in our database or transmitted externally. Revoking this permission disables the daily-limit feature.

Device Administrator Optional – Uninstall Protection (All Plans)

When you voluntarily enable Uninstall Protection, Retakr requests Device Administrator privileges. This makes the app harder to uninstall or force-stop, ensuring your blocking rules stay active. Device Admin status does not grant Retakr access to personal data, remote management capabilities, or any ability to track your device. You can revoke Device Admin status at any time in Android Settings → Security → Device Admin Apps, which will disable the Uninstall Protection feature.

Important: None of the data accessed through these permissions is collected, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties. All processing occurs entirely on your device.

5 In-App Purchases & Google Play

Retakr offers optional paid plans (Standard and Pro) through Google Play Billing as one-time purchases. The purchase transaction is handled entirely by Google.

Purchase Plans

6 Third-Party Services

Retakr integrates with the following third-party services in a limited capacity:

ServicePurposeData Shared
Google Play Billing In-app purchase transactions Purchase receipt (handled by Google)
Android UsageStats API Query daily app usage for time-limit enforcement No external sharing
Android Accessibility API Read browser URL bar for web filtering No external sharing

We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.), or any other data-collection third-party libraries.

7 Children's Privacy

Retakr is a parental-control and self-discipline tool suitable for users of all ages, including use by parents to protect minors. However, the App itself does not knowingly collect any personal information from users of any age.

In the context of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): because we collect no personal information from any user — child or adult — Retakr exceeds COPPA's requirements by design. COPPA obligations are triggered by the collection of personal data from children under 13; since we collect nothing from anyone, those obligations are satisfied at the architectural level.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to us through some unintended channel, please contact us at the address in Section 13 and we will investigate and address the concern promptly.

8 Data Security

Because Retakr stores all data exclusively on your device and does not transmit it to external servers, the primary security layer is Android's own application sandbox. Each Android app runs in an isolated environment, and Retakr's local database is accessible only by the App itself unless the device is rooted.

We take additional steps to protect sensitive configuration data:

The Protection PIN is stored in the local database using a one-way hash. The original PIN value is never stored in recoverable form. On standard (non-rooted) Android devices, the App's private data directory is inaccessible to other apps. On rooted devices, the sandbox isolation provided by Android may be bypassed by other apps or by the user, which could expose the local database. JozaForge cannot prevent this on rooted devices and recommends against using Admin Protection or PIN Protection on rooted devices where the security guarantees cannot be enforced.

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. We recommend keeping your Android device updated and using Android's built-in screen lock for additional protection.

9 Your Rights Under GDPR (EU / EEA / UK)

If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies to you. Because Retakr does not collect or process personal data through our systems, most GDPR rights are satisfied by default.

Right of Access

All data is on your device. You can view it directly within the App at any time.

Right to Rectification

You can modify any configuration data directly in the App.

Right to Erasure

Clear App data or uninstall to delete all local data permanently.

Right to Restriction

You control all processing via in-app settings; disable any feature at any time.

Right to Portability

GDPR Art. 20 portability rights apply to personal data processed by the controller. Since JozaForge processes no personal data, this right does not apply to JozaForge. For Google Play purchase data, exercise this right directly with Google.

Right to Object

You can revoke any Android permission through device Settings at any time.

For Google Play purchase data, please exercise your rights directly with Google via their data and privacy dashboard.

If you have questions about GDPR compliance, contact us at supportjozaforge@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10 Your Rights Under CCPA (California)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you specific rights. Because Retakr does not sell personal information and does not collect personal information through our systems, many CCPA obligations do not apply. Specifically:

To the extent any California rights apply to data held by Google related to your Google Play purchases, please exercise those rights through Google's privacy tools.

11 International Users

Retakr is available globally through the Google Play Store. Because we do not collect or transmit personal data, data transfer restrictions under frameworks such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses, or similar mechanisms do not apply to our processing.

Users in jurisdictions with specific privacy laws (Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, India's DPDP Act, etc.) should note that Retakr's no-data-collection architecture means those laws impose minimal obligations on us. Your local rights regarding data held by Google (for purchase purposes) can be exercised with Google directly.

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality, legal requirements, or best practices. When we make material changes, we will:

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
